talking about motivation, the division on age groups is a must. therefore, in the classrooms with 3-5 kids(4-6yo) , the solution #2 by Jane Moon on page 21 has been used for many situations by me. Affectiveness - 90% because the other task is achieved make a student feel home, and not stressed because he cannot repeat longer sentence. resolving lack of motivation for the future i would definitely try to implement understanding the task purposes (7-11yo), figure out what the interests of a student are and enact them into a lesson. for example, my students 9 and 10 yo Frank and Joe keep talking about computer games, so my rewards will be connected with heroes from warcraft or something similar. one of the solution to overcome motivation problem for older kids (12-15yo) i would imply writing a letters to imaginary friends , alians, fairies etc. at that age children tend to have very good imagination,( that is why we are the generation of Harry Potter fans, we grew up on this book, it was about magic, about unreal things that could hapen to you), thus we could use it to make kids interested and progress in learning English
