Discipline while studing and self organization can effect learning process in a positive or in case absent in negative way. With elder children, what keeps them concentrated and motivated within the lesson is the feeling of reward, sometimes recognition. assigning leader for the lesson may work out as the the way to reach attention of the most disctructed kid, or make bonds of trust with natural leader in the group. The activity which i recollect is playing the game" the smartest" , who answers most of questions, or fulfils most of the tasks gets the role. that way of creating classroom management worked at my lessons with elder kids (7-11yo).

This is unique I like it, not only are we agreeing that selecting a leader has positive benefits, but devising a system for how we select that leader! Excellent. Its something we can at least try!
