My name is Demon. I grew up in Northeast Texas spent my summers on a cattle ranch in Decatur and the fall the poorest areas of downtown Dallas attending inner city schools. I joined the military in 2001 being assigned to Air Force Intelligence Headquarters for my first duty station in San Antonio, Texas. While there I help create the first Airman’s Committee, an organization that covered the base consisting of more than 5,000 airmen the largest contingency of US Airmen in the entire world at at that time, and I became its first founding president.
Next, I move to Germany where I worked in a Nuclear Fallout facility, one of few places that could boost its survivability even with a direct nuclear bomb explosion. This is also where I got my first teaching experience. I began creating AOR specific briefings that covered high risk areas of interest. I volunteered for a duty in Iraq and was stationed in Camp Adder 2006-2007. This is in southern Iraq a few kilometers outside of Nasiriyah; which was the most dangerous city in the world at that time, according to the worldatlas.
I left the military in late 2007 to begin running a construction company for a few private investors. I began construction on my first two houses in 2008 both houses around 4,500 SQFT or about 450 SQ m. My investors didn’t survive the crash of 2008 and I was left holding 1.2mil in assets loans with little to no capital. I transitioned the last working capital I had into a financial processing company. My company supported struggling homeowners negotiate loan modifications, loan restructures, and short sales. My company processed and negotiated agreements for over $1,000,000,000 (yes, crazy right 1 Billion) in mortgage assets. I continued to run the company until I got tired.
I had a big house, a huge private yard, in an exclusive neighborhood, and more than anyone in my family could have ever hoped to dream before I was 30. The problem was that I was unhappy and depressed. I wanted to help people and I wanted to feel inspired, but I didn’t. So I gave everything away (literally everything the houses, my cars, all the stuff) and left. I wanted to find more and if I didn’t I figured it wouldn’t bother me to die trying. I moved to China, then I didn’t really want to stay. So I went straight down to Thailand ran out of money and got stuck on an island. It was there I found my passion.
All I had ever wanted to do with my life was to help others. I wanted to create something that would bring people together and improve their lives at the same time. That’s when I began work on my project to create a universal learning platform. A platform that can be used anywhere in the world to teach distinct peoples of different cultures and backgrounds the fundamental building blocks necessary for literacy, mathematics, and science. I want everyone in the world to be able to communicate with one another through a shared language and I want every child in the world to have access to education. I found my purpose for existence in my quest to make the world a better place.
China is one of the few places that gives me the opportunity to develop, test, and market my platform. I found i2 because our goals aligned, I could provide them with a quality teacher and they gave me a new environment to develop my platform.
So if I appear a bit obsessed analyzing my student’s progress and development it’s because I am. I’m always trying to improve not only the quality of my work but also who I am as a person that way I can be better at helping others. My life has always been dedicated in service to others only now I’m on a mission and I intend to see it through. It may not be completely correct to say I love teaching, instead it would be better to say I’m driven to teaching because of my love for people.
For brevity and security sake I left out moving to Mexico and my business ventures there, my time spent in Italy, and sensitive military stuff.
TL;DR My name is Demon. I've done a lot and I love people.
